Trails and Signs.
The Meadow - This Loop is the center of Koivikko. The loop Starts by crossing the creek before a Sharp ascend. At the top you find yourself weaving through an aspen meadow. *Caution* Steep Hills!
Hill Cut-off - to skip the hard loop you can take the hill cutoff to ski the trail head loop again and again.
Birch Ridge - This Ridge, even though is is mostly Aspen, Provides a good view of the flags across the creek. It starts on the hill overlooking the creeks before the trail continues down onto the Old-folks cutoff through the swamps of Koivikko Creek. This route is an easier route to get to the upper part of the meadow.
Koivikko Creek - This Creek Runs Through Koivikko Creating many of the hills on The Meadow and Canyon loops.
Biathlon Loop - even without a range this loop is a good Alternative for Skiers Who don’t want to ski the upper (or lower) parts of The Meadow.
The Canyon - this Loops runs along the Koivikko Creek Canyon. It's hill is what Make it the one of the hardest Loop at Koivikko. *Caution* Steep Hills, Sharp Corners *Thin trail.
Pohjantähti Loop - this Trail is the Branch off of the meadow that. Takes you up to the upper loops. It Traverses through a Big Black Spruce Forest. This Loop is Nice and Flat, Perfect for Less Experienced Skiers.
Kussen maatila Loop - This means Spruce farm, a nice and easy short loop that winds its way through tall Black Spruce trees.
Moose Tracks Trail - This Trail Goes to the Beaver pond behind Koivikko. Named for the Moose beds and tracks which are often found in this area. While you ski this trail you ski over the continental Divide between The Devils Track and Cascade River.
Yield to Moose - Do it!
Cair Paravel - Named after the legendary Narnian Castle. This trail travels along the top of the Ridge over looking a small drainage before Dropping down in to the drainage and travels back along the Beaver Dams. *Caution* *Steep Hills*
Brush Creek
Beaversdam - the trail that Traverses the Pond. This is a perfect Chance to See Otter Slides and Look at the huge beaver lodge on the Pond and ski along the long beaver Dams
Up 'n Over - just a fun little hill!
To Bally Creek - one of the long time dreams of Koivikko Nordic has been to be able to ski to the Bally Creek Trails. Making use of some of the Local Hunter Walking Trails this is now a possibility. Grooming this trail is difficult so it is best to expect to break trail.
